Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has said the club have rejected offers from three clubs for midfielder Charlie Adam - including a £4m bid from Liverpool. Adam, 25, has been key to Blackpool's success this term and Holloway said Birmingham and Liverpool had joined Aston Villa in the hunt for the Scot. But Holloway has described the bids for his skipper as "derisory".
"If Charlie is only worth £4m then I'm a Scotsman called McTavish. It is insulting," said Holloway. (BBC Sport)

Welcome to The Tangerine Dream ... a blog dedicated to news stories, match reports ... that chart Blackpool's progress in the top flight of English Football. Right back where they belong ... Welcome to The Tangerine Dream ... I was born on the Fylde coast in 1965 and 'blame' my older brother for introducing me to The Seasiders at an early age. I have scant memories of the 70's glory days ... sadly. But, I have always followed The Tangerines through thick and thin ... through the 80's, the 90's ... every home game. Glorious moments like trouncing Blackburn Rovers 5 v 2 (I think) during a run in the 80's when we were scoring 5 goals a game for fun. Heartbreaking moments like losing to QPR in the FA Cup.Being beaten by Bradford City 2 v 3 even though we were winning 2 v 0!! Having to apply for re-election into the Football League after being at the bottom of all the leagues. I remember it all ... but even through it all tangerine blood still coursed through my veins. Then in 2002 I emigrated to the Southern Hemisphere and TV coverage of The Tangerines was zilch. I witnessed from afar their fantastic resurgence from 2nd Division to Championship. My brother would give me occasional run downs on their performance in the games ... I followed the results on the internet. I could sense something magical was happening. THEN IT HAPPENED!!! It was only recently ... the home game against Bristol City ... that TV coverage was possible over here. The team has been incredible. I'd been totally convinced in recent weeks that we'd achieve promotion! When we made the play-offs I just knew we'd make Wembley. Even when we went 1 v 0 down to Cardiff City I just knew it was our year to make it into the big time! AND HERE WE ARE ... BLACKPOOL ARE IN THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE!
